OUR  INTENTIONS AND PURPOSE

Preserve the sports in Houston's Memorial Park

Memorial Park

Our intentions are not to obstruct progress, as we endorse progress that is for the good of the people.  We are in favor of preserving nature, and Memorial Park harbors many wonderful forms of wildlife.

Memorial Park is famous in Houston for providing an excellent location in the middle of the fourth largest city in the USA, which is used by joggers, softball players, baseball players, rugby players, golfers, soccer players, tennis athletes, bikers, walkers, nature enthusiasts, and many more.  If the Plan passes it will eventually eliminate all except for golf, jogging, and and the polo practice fields.

Although those who champion the Plan claim that the changes may not take place for year, or even at all, it still creates the possibilities and gives them the option to make decisions without proper governance.

We must also ask "why" put it in the plan at all?  The city needs more facilities, which is a separate topic from Memorial Park.  The solution is simple: Don't remove the fields.  The City does not have millions of dollars to spend on unnecessary changes.  If the so called "Conservancy" is really a conservancy, why don't they go find projects that will benefit us?  Because it is not in their interest.

Note that we are not compensated for this effort, except for the satisfaction of helping the community and preserving the rights of ourselves and our children.
